The International Rescue Committee provided some 70,000 vulnerable Syrian families with specialized aid kits that helped them survive this past winter. The kits included items such as reinforced plastic sheeting to provide protection from the weather, rolls of tape to fasten the sheeting, blankets, sleeping mats and socks. To date, the IRC and its Syrian partners have reached more than 600,000 people inside Syria with medical aid and emergency kits. According to the United Nations, more than four million Syrians remain in need due to the ongoing civil war.
