Fifie was one of an estimated 200,000 children working as restaveks, a form of indentured labor that often results in abuse. Four years after the devastating earthquake, the IRC continues to protect children like Fifie and by reuniting them with their families in Haiti.
When 10-year-old Fifie was discovered by International Rescue Committee staff several months after the massive earthquake rocked Haiti in 2010, she was dressed in rags, barefoot and eager to find her parents.
