Malnutrition is linked to nearly half of all deaths of children under the age of five, yet only 10 percent of malnourished children have access to the life-saving treatment they need. This unacceptably low coverage is common in many conflict-affected areas where distances are often great, transport options limited and health facilities few and far between. It is also a consequence of the flawed response of the international community to the malnutrition crisis.
