The IRC is ramping up its response in Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo where thousands of Burundian refugees have sought shelter from political unrest.
Growing political tension and an attempted military coup has sparked protests across Burundi, driving tens of thousands of people from their homes. As violence continues to escalate in the capital city of Bujumbura, more than 100,000 people have fled to neighboring counties since the start of the crisis in late April.
