Most Syrian refugees in Lebanon can’t afford rent, to buy food and fuel, or pay for schooling for their children. The IRC provides cash assistance, accessed through reloadable debit cards, to thousands of the most vulnerable.
Daily survival is a struggle for many of the 1.2 million Syrians who have fled the bitter conflict in their home country, now in its fourth year, to seek refuge in neighboring Lebanon.
Unlike Jordan, Iraq and Turkey, Lebanon has no refugee camps and Syrian refugees are scattered among 1,200 towns and villages, making them much harder to reach and help.
