Struggling with the legacy of life as a refugee from war, 24-year-old Sudanese David "Deng" Duot, found solace in fashion.
For David “Deng” Duot, fashion is his muse. The model and emerging designer’s unique flair was inspired by sewing skills his mother taught him as a young boy, as well as his love for the art of his family’s native Sudan.
On a recent trip to New York City to model for several luxury brands, Deng was styling a sharp, dark suit of his own design topped off with a Fedora hat and a range of glistening rings.
“I always saw myself as an artist,” Deng says. “I wanted to bring two cultures together in a modern way.”
