Meeting a desperate need for clean water in camps for Darfuri refugees

Approximately 50,000 people have fled renewed violence in Darfur, Sudan since January, according to U.N. estimates, many crossing the border into eastern Chad. The IRC is working to meet their desperate need for clean water.
Approximately 50,000 people have fled renewed violence in Darfur, Sudan since January, according to U.N. estimates, many crossing the border into eastern Chad.  They include Sudanese refugees as well as Chadians who had been living in Sudan. The majority of the refugees are living in the Ab Gadam camp and in several makeshift shelters around Lake Tissi.
