Meet three young Syrian refugees living in Turkey who dream of nothing more than to get the education they deserve.
It began to snow for the first time in 40 years as 16-year-old Sabah* and her family made their way from their home in Aleppo, Syria, to the border town of Reyhanli in Turkey. The soft blanket of snow reminded Sabah of a white angel, but all was not calm and quiet: she could hear shells exploding in the distance.
"I now write poems and stories to my white angel,” Sabah says. “I suffer a lot from homesickness.”
Sabah and her family fled Syria two years ago after her father was imprisoned for his political activities.
