Ebola will only be stopped when community leadership is placed at the center of the global response, says the IRC in its latest report. The outbreak is fast approaching at least 5,000 deaths with over 13,000 infected.

The current Ebola outbreak in West Africa – the largest, longest and most complex in the nearly four-decade history of the disease – is fast approaching at least 5,000 deaths with over 13,000 infected.

Ebola will only be stopped when community leadership is placed at the center of the global response, says the International Rescue Committee in its latest report. Community leaders must be listened to and empowered to initiate solutions that work best for their neighborhoods and villages.
