This week ALNAP published its 2014 study on putting affected people at the centre of humanitarian action. The report is a good overview of different types of engagement, different motivations for (and against) engaging, practical challenges and the (limited) progress the aid business has made to date on this theme. So why did I find it a frustrating read?
