Fifteen-year-old Sabeen had big dreams. She wanted to finish school and become a fashion designer. But instead, she was forced to get married.
“One day I came home to my father arguing with my mother, saying it was time for me to get married. He wanted to arrange a match with my cousin, putting me under a man’s protection and reducing the family’s financial burden. I told my father that I didn’t want to get married – that I didn’t love this man, and my mother said she thought I was too young.”
