Somehow in those far-off heady days, when the world was a little less beset with acronyms and 140-character limitations, the creators of this august institution failed to consider that its initials signify negation in one of the major UN languages (or un-languages as they’ve become, now that words like ‘le cluster’, with the appropriate accent, have become an acceptable part of French aid discourse).
