Meet one of the IRC’s many humanitarian heroes: Mahab Madani. Madani works for the IRC's protection programs that provide legal information and services to people affected by conflict. She says, "there is a feeling that what we are doing is contributing to making the world a better place."
"You need to be ready to step up to challenges and expect to be given tasks that are overwhelming. It’s part of the nature of the work—the problems we face are enormous and extremely challenging."
So says the International Rescue Committee’s Mahab Madani, one of the heroes honored on World Humanitarian Day, designated by the United Nations. Mahab works with the IRC in Iraq.
