The United Nations is on course to deploy 10,000 peacekeepers in the Central African Republic (CAR) in September, Herve Ladsous, head of the UN’s peacekeeping operations, confirmed in Geneva on Wednesday. The IRC has remained in CAR during the current crisis to provide lifesaving assistance to thousands of people and operates mobile clinics to ensure that communities have access to essential health services.
