In 2008, as fighting raged in Somalia, Halima, mother of three, fled to Kenya with her family and her elderly father to settle in Kakuma refugee camp. Late last year, Halima* had to leave Kakuma to seek medical attention in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, and stayed to work as a housemaid in order to pay the hospital fees.
