More than one million Syrian refugees have fled to neighboring Lebanon. Among them are children who are fending for themselves or working to help support their families on the streets of major cities. The IRC is running weekly activity sessions in Beirut designed to help these "street children" grow more resilient and learn how to stay safe.
Since the start of the Syrian crisis in May 2011, over a million refugees have registered in Lebanon. Many of them have settled in urban areas, outside of traditional refugee camps, creating additional strains on the country’s infrastructure and resources.
