Early rains in South Sudan are catastrophic for the almost 710,000 people who have been displaced by the violence that has overrun the country since December. “Now it’s a race against time,” says the IRC's Wendy Taeuber.

Early rains in South Sudan are catastrophic for the almost 710,000 people who have been displaced by the violence that has overrun the country since December.

“Now it’s a race against time,” says the International Rescue Committee’s country director, Wendy Taeuber. “Shelter, sanitation and clean water are urgently needed because of the large number of people living in makeshift shelters. We are concerned about their health and safety.”
