The International Rescue Committee has launched an emergency response to the crisis in South Sudan, which has been pushed to the brink of civil war since fighting between government and rebel factions erupted three weeks ago. According to the United Nations, at least 1,000 people have been killed and more than 230,000 displaced, many of whom have sought refuge in United Nations compounds. The IRC has established an information, advice and referral center within a U.N.
