In Congo, the IRC supports increased school enrollment and attendance by building and renovating school infrastructures, training teachers, covering school fees for the most vulnerable students, and giving students of all ages a second chance to learn.

Thousands of boys and girls, who have been out of school for years as their parents could not afford their education, are now taking free accelerated learning classes supported by the IRC. Here’s 11-year-old Esther, on her first day of school after a four-year break.
