The IRC is providing tens of thousands of emergency kits both inside Syria and to Syrian refugees in neighboring countries, ahead of the coldest month of the winter. The kits include blankets, warm clothing and plastic tarpaulins.
Thousands of families displaced by the Syrian civil war are now receiving winter emergency kits to help them survive the cold months ahead. The International Rescue Committee has already shipped more than 2,000 kits into camps for the displaced in northern Syria and close to 30,000 more are packed and ready to go. January is the coldest month of the year in Syria, with temperatures frequently dropping below freezing.
